Former 2016 Trump campaign adviser is charged over his work for sanctioned Russian TV

The Justice Department has charged Dimitri Simes, a Russian-born U.S. citizen and former Trump campaign adviser, and his wife with working for a sanctioned Russian state television network and laundering over $1 million. The charges come amid concerns about Russian interference in the upcoming U.S. election. Simes previously featured in the Mueller investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election but was not charged then.
