Police: Cecilia man accused of possessing, distributing meth, cocaine, heroin

ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A 39-year-old Cecilia man is facing charges in connection with the possession and distribution of various narcotics, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office announced.

According to a press release, Clarence Smith was arrested after a search warrant was executed at a home in the 1000 block of Domingue Street in Cecilia. He faces numerous possession/distribution-related charges as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.

The sheriff's office said his arrest is the result of a joint investigation with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit concerning illegal narcotics activity in the Cecilia and Lafayette areas.

Investigators said they found the following items when searching the home:

  • 2,250 Dosage Units of Suspected MDMA
  • 558 Grams of Suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 310 Grams of Suspected Cocaine HCL
  • 29 Grams of Suspected Heroin 30 Grams of Suspected Black Tar Heroin
  • 80 Dosage Units of Oxycodone Hydrochloride (Suspected to Be Counterfeit Pressed Fentanyl)
  • 120 ML of Promethazine
  • $54,622 in US Currency Weighing and Packaging Material
