PlayStation fans spot official reveal with the new PS5 Pro design

RUMOURS about the PS5 Pro have been around for a while now, but a number of new developments show that the official announcement might not be far off.

Firstly, established leaker billbil-kun revealed a drawing of the PS5 Pro that they claim is based on a finalised design document they observed.

PlayStation released an official promotional image for the 30th anniversary of the original console, and it has stirred rumours once again.

The original PlayStation launched on December 3, 1994, in Japan, and to celebrate 30 years since its release there will be a number of special events for PlayStation owners.

Events include a free multiplayer weekend, including games like EA FC 24 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and tournaments will take place over that weekend too.

New PlayStation soundtracks will also be added to Spotify, and people can listen to a 30th Anniversary playlist.

There will also be a game called My First GT, which will act as an extended free trial to Gran Turismo that people can play for free.

However, these aren’t the announcement that PlayStation fans were most excited about.

The background of the image promoted PlayStation’s 30th anniversary events featuring silhouettes of consoles from throughout the company’s history.

People spotted images representing all of PlayStation’s consoles as well as accessories like the PlayStation Portal, and PS Move controllers.

However, there was another console that people didn’t recognise from any official sources.

Between the PlayStation logo and the ‘3’ there is a console that looks similar to a PS5 console standing vertically.

However, around the middle there were three darker stripes, a design that is not seen on any current PS5 models.

The original PS5 has no stripes on the face plates, while the PS5 Slim has just one dark stripe around the middle.

This silhouette seen in PlayStation’s official promotional image matches the drawing for the PS5 Pro that billbil-kun released.

The official image has led people to believe that the drawing is genuinely based on the final PS5 Pro design.

Not only that but people believe that the PS5 Pro will be announced soon, possibly releasing on the 30th anniversary, thanks to the timing of the promotional image.

PlayStation hasn’t confirmed anything about the image, and it could be that this design has since been altered or scrapped.

However, this is the most concrete evidence to date of the PS5 Pro’s existence.
