Alpine has confirmed that it will be unveiling its first all-electric crossover SUV in the form of the A360 Beta “sport fastback”.

The firm, which acts as the performance arm of Renault, was revived in 2017 after being absorbed into the French giant in 1976.

Since then, it has focussed almost solely on its A110 sports car lineup.

It was only back in June that it unveiled its first electric car – the A290 hot hatch.

The brand now looks to be expanding further into the EV market to compete in the highly in-demand compact SUV segment.

Relatively little is know about the new motor as it isn’t even confirmed for a production run yet – though this is expected to follow soon after the concept.

Alpine promises it will be a uniquely “Alpine crossover for every lifestyle” and be “fit for every purpose.”

It is based on the same platform as sibling models like the Renault Scenic and Nissan Ariya.

However, this is set to be modified slightly to add more performance edge with a focus on handling.

According to AutoExpress, it will feature a triple-motor configuration, with an expected power output of between 450 and 500 horsepower overall.

A spokesperson for Alpine said: “On 11 October 2024, Alpine will exclusively unveil on its media website the A390_β show car, the forerunner of the brand’s future sport fastback, of which production will begin in Dieppe in 2025.

“This new model will join Alpine’s 100% electric Dream Garage alongside the A290, its hot hatch that went on sale this summer.

“The A390_β will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show from 14 to 20 October 2024.

“Alpine will also present the Alpenglow Hy6, the latest version of its hydrogen-powered prototype, the A290, and new examples of A110 customisations.”

It comes after a rival luxury brand confirmed it would be bringing a redeveloped version of a popular EV to the UK next year.
