Pokémon fans find unlikely ‘mon that’s the perfect counter to Incineroar raid

POKÉMON fans are always excited about new raid events, but some of them can be very difficult to take down.

In particular, the latest Incineroar raid is very challenging thanks to the boosting glitch meaning it can boost its attack and defense up to four times every turn.

Ursaluna and Weezing make a great team for the raid[/caption]

Luckily, there’s a combination of Pokémon, including one very unlikely pick, that will help people take down the raid with ease.

The Incineroar raid will take place between Friday, September 6, 2024, and Sunday, September 8, 2024, and again from Friday, September 13, 2024, until Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Incineroar has an impressive move set including Fire-, Dark-, and Steel-type attacks as well as the boosting move Bulk Up.

It also begins the fight by using Snarl to drop special attack, and Taunt to stop one Pokémon from using non-damaging moves for three turns.

At half health Incineroar will also launch an Earthquake, which players need to be prepared for.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Mighty Incineroar:

Incineroar the Unrivaled – Level 100

  • Nature – Brave
  • Ability – Intimidate
  • Tera Type – Dark
  • Moves – Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Iron Head, Bulk Up (Snarl, Taunt, Earthquake)

If you want to grab Incineroar yourself you’ll need to build the right Pokémon for the job.

The best way is to team up with a friend; one who has a Weezing and another that has an offensive option.

Weezing can use the move Clear Smog to wipe Incineroar’s constantly boosted stats, as well as Will-O-Wisp and Rain Dance to reduce damage.

Here’s the Weezing set we recommend:

Weezing – Level 100

  • Nature – Bold
  • Ability – Levitate
  • Tera Type – Fighting
  • Item – Leftovers
  • Moves – Clear Smog, Will-O-Wisp, Rain Dance, Sludge Bomb

With the support of Weezing you can set up your attacking Pokémon without taking too much damage from Incineroar.

We recommend either Ursaluna or Primarina as they can both deal a lot of damage if protected by Weezing.

Ursaluna is a physical attacker who deals huge damage with Belly Drum, and can restore its health with Drain Punch.

Primarina is a special attacker and will need to boost with Calm Mind before using strong Moonblasts and Draining Kisses.

Here are the sets we recommend:

Ursaluna – Level 100

  • Nature – Impish
  • Ability – Guts
  • Tera Type – Fighting
  • Item – Flame Orb
  • Moves – Drain Punch, Belly Drum, Facade, Yawn

Primarina – Level 100

  • Nature – Bold
  • Ability – Torrent
  • Tera Type – Fairy
  • Moves – Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Calm Mind, Reflect
