Inside Idris Elba’s top secret birthday bash as guests including PM Keir Starmer partied the night away
HE turned 52 today and Idris Elba would have kicked off his birthday with a pretty epic hangover – after hosting a top secret party at the super cool Kensington Roof Gardens the night before.
My insiders told me the bash, which was strictly invite only, was packed with VIPs – including our very own Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who popped in for a quick drink.
They added: “Idris’ invite list for his 52nd birthday party was top secret and it was packed with stars.
“Everyone was talking about Keir coming for a drink and he was seen driving into the underground car park of the venue around 8pm and left an hour later.
“Keir was on top form and was chatting with everyone at the bash.
“He didn’t stay long but having him there was a real highlight for the guests.
“Idris pulled out all the stops to put on an amazing night and there was champagne flowing all night, as well as vodka martini cocktails.
“He was the host with the most and took time to chat to everyone who’d come along and didn’t stop smiling all night.”
Guests at Idris’ party included Kai Widdrington and Angela Rippon, Michael McIntyre, Lily Cole, Jemima Khan and my favourite Peep Show star David Mitchell and his wife Victoria Coren.
My insider added: “Idris got up on the decks for a DJ set and Angela joined him.
“She turns 80 in October but she was partying hard and looked like she was loving it in the booth with Idris.
“Looking around the bash it was like a who’s who of British celebrities.
“Idris went onto the mic and gave a speech as well.
“His wife Sabrina was beaming when she was watching him up there.
“They were the last to leave and they went home in the early hours.”
I hope the first present Idris opened was a packet of Nurofen.
I’m pretty sure he and all of his guests would have needed them.
