Coleen Nolan hits back after fans slam her for ‘leaving out’ co-stars in Loose Women anniversary post
COLEEN Nolan today hit back after fans slammed her for “leaving out” some of her co-stars in her Loose Women anniversary post.
The star, who has been a near-permanent fixture throughout the ITV show’s run, didn’t hold back when she came under attack.
It all started when Coleen took to Instagram to celebrate Loose Women‘s 25th anniversary, which began in 1999.
The panellist shared a montage of clips from her years on the show, starting from when she made her debut in 2000.
Writing next to the sweet video, she said: “25 years of @loosewomen (24 for me) of so much fun, laughter and also at times tears.
“Thank you Loose Women for being such a major part of my life, and to all you wonderful viewers thank you for your loyalty and support.
“Here’s to the next 25! Love you all.”
The slew of clips which featured Coleen’s Loose Women highlights included her with co-stars Ruth Langsford, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street Porter.
Other Loose Women stars like Saira Khan and Sherrie Hewson were also in there, as were Nadia Sawalha, Denise Welch, Kaye Adams and Jane Moore.
However, not all of Coleen’s colleagues from past years featured in the montage.
This caused one fan to write: “Only saw one photo of Carol McGiffin.
“There was nothing about Jackie Brambles, Kate Thornton and Terri Dwyer.”
Coleen liked the comment and responded by explaining how the video only featured a “handful of highlights”.
After more comments started to pour in, Coleen later responded again to her followers.
Writing in a pinned comment she said: “Just for clarification, I’ve collated some highlights to celebrate 25 years of LW.
“It would have been impossible to feature every single panellist past & present in the reel, nothing but love for all the ladies.”
Meanwhile, earlier this year Coleen spoke out about life behind-the-scenes of Loose Women.
She insisted that there were no ongoing “feuds” with fellow panellists – even if they do have the odd disagreement live on air.
Speaking to OK!, Coleen also admitted she “fell out of love” with the show for a bit, and said: “It was because certain people behind the scenes weren’t being nice and I wasn’t enjoying it.
“Then those people went onto other things and great people came in, and I’ve loved it ever since.”
Coleen joined the show in 2000 – less than a year after the show began.
However, she quit the series in 2011, with the team throwing her a massive farewell episode to mark over a decade of discussions.
But by 2013 she had been persuaded to return, with fans confused about the prior fanfare considering she’d come back.
Loose Women has never been shy to have an on-screen fight, with some of the moments going viral for their vicious head-to-heads.
Panelist Nadia Sawalha told The Sun in 2021 that the ladies were prone to having “the most enormous arguments – not even necessarily on air,” adding: “I mean when we’re having the pre-meeting, when we’re deciding what we want to talk about”.
Coleen was also at the centre of Loose Women’s most infamous showdown ever, when an interview with Kim Woodburn went off the rails in 2018.
The Nolans sister was forced to deny being a bully after she and her sister Linda were accused of ganging up on her former Celebrity Big Brother co-star.
The interview ended with Kim storming off the set, shouting: “I wouldn’t want to sit and talk with lying trash. She’s a horrible person. You are trash, you’re a piece of filth!”
