‘Obsessed’ shoppers cry as they race to Sainbury’s to get their hands on ‘the coat of the season,’ it’s the perfect dupe
FASHIONS fans are running to Sainsbury’s to get their hands on “the coat of the season.”
They also claim it’s the perfect dupe for a much more expensive brand.
Style queen Lucy Georgina loved them so much she managed to get her hands on two of the same style coats, but in different colours.
The content creator, who is known as @lucygeorgina.g on TikTok and Instagram, shared a video of herself modelling the coat that she is now “obsessed” with.
Sainbury’s are selling the wool-look trench coat, in brown, olive green and grey for only £45.
Fashion experts at the supermarket claim that the coat is “perfect for layering when the weather isn’t as predictable as we’d like it.”
The website states: “Stay stylish in our wool-look trench coat, featuring a standard collar with a top button fastening, side pockets and a waist belt.”
Modelling both the brown and olive green coat in a video on her TikTok, Lucy says: “II have just got my hands on the coat of the season.
“It is the most gorgeous olive coat colour.”
She also claims that it is a dupe of a Cos coat that came out a couple of years ago.
Lucy continues: “The perfect Cos dupes that came out a couple of years ago, I never got my hands on it but never stopped thinking about it.”
But happy with the Sainsbury’s coat, she says: “It is dreamy, it’s from Sainsbury’s can you believe it?
“Is it not the most gorgeous coat you’ve ever seen? It is everything I’ve ever wanted in a coat.”
Lucy usually wears a size eight, but got a size 12 and that fits perfectly for her.
Lucy, who also blogs on YouTube under the name of Lucy Georgina, continues: “Sainsbury’s is just the place to be. So underrated.
“I feel like you need to experience these in person. The quality is incredible.

“I cannot get over these. I am obsessed with them,
“I feel like when people find out about these coats, they are going to sell out really quickly.
“So, run to Sainbury’s.”
Her video attracted lots of attention, with many fashion fans rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “What a find!”
Whilst another added: “You’ve sold me. They do a petite length in the brown too.”
A third said: “I got my coat from Sainsbury’s last year and I got so many compliments on it. I absolutely love it.”
And someone else said: “Thank you! I spent so long last year looking for a nice coat that buttons to the top.”
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
