B&M shoppers nab lights scanning for £2 instead of £15 perfect for garden makeovers

B&M shoppers can’t get enough of garden lights scanning for just £2 instead of £15.

The discount retailer is known for stocking all kinds of bargains from DIY items to toys and pet products.

But shoppers have been rushing out to buy one in particular in recent days – solar-powered outdoor lights.

One customer recently spotted the light curtain in their local B&M branch, posting a photo of the steal on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

They said: “Perfect for next year…lots reduced in B&M.”

The post has notched up over 360 likes and almost 200 comments from shoppers keen to snap up some of the lights.

One said: “Need these for (the) summer house.”

A second said: “Oh yeah they’re a bit of me.”

A third, tagging a friend, commented: “Gogogogo.”

If you’re keen to snap up the B&M lights, bear in mind you might not find them for £2 at your closest branch and it might not even stock them.

If you want to save a wasted trip, you could always try calling your local store to see if they have any and for the lower price.

You can find your nearest B&M store by using the retailer’s branch locator tool on its website.

You just have to type in your city, town or postcode and it will bring up your closest B&M location.

In any case, when buying something like this, always make sure to shop around to ensure you’re getting the best deal.

Just because a retailer has slashed the price of a product, that doesn’t mean you won’t get it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use websites like Trolley and Price Spy to compare prices of thousands of products online.

Meanwhile, the Google Shopping/Product tab lets you scan the internet for a specific type of product to see which retailer has it cheapest.

We had a quick look online to see if any other retailers are selling similar solar light curtains for less than £2 but couldn’t find any though.

Tesco has some on sale for £6 while Sainsbury’s has a solar light curtain for £16.

The solar-powered light curtain deal isn’t the first to catch B&M shoppers’ eyes in recent weeks.

Customers were racing to their nearest branch last week after the retailer slashed hand towels from £2.50 to 50p.

Shoppers also spotted candles, cutlery organisers and electronic gadgets for just pennies too.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.

Keep an eye out for red sticker products as well, according to deals expert Tom Church.

These are put on special buy products that have also been reduced in price.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
