Proudest moment of my entire life’ Jon Kay reveals major milestone that’s worlds away from BBC Breakfast career
JON Kay has revealed a major milestone that’s worlds away from his BBC Breakfast career.
The presenter is known for fronting the Beeb’s flagship breakfast show every week alongside Sally Nugent, 53.

However, it seems that the TV star has another talent that is worlds away from his usual career in television presenting.
The long-time personality seems to have a penchant for baking and he even entered into a competition.
Jon decided to compete in the men’s category at his local village show with a special cheese and onion pasty.
Much to the amazement of his family, Jon beat the other competitors to the top prize and he couldn’t be more proud.
The BBC face took to his Instagram with a string of images, including one snap of his large first-place blue ribbon award.
In another shot he beamed as he posed with his baking concoction as he boasted about his victory on his profile grid page.
He captioned the snap: “Possibly the proudest moment of my entire life…
“My cheese and onion pasty won first prize in our village show (men’s cooking category – yes, that’s a thing).
He added: “The looks of absolute astonishment on the faces of my wife and children will never be forgotten,” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.
It seems he has the baking bug as he practically begged Michelle Ackerley and Gethin Jones to come on Morning Live and show off his skills.
During the daily crossover between the shows, Jon jokingly asked: “Any baking [or] cookery slots anything like that?”
Much to his amusement, Michelle shot back: “That’s for you, Jon, with the pasty!”
As the pair giggled, Jon replied: “Happy to come down and share my insights anytime, it won’t take long.”
Who are the current presenters of BBC Breakfast?
The flagship BBC show has had dozens of presenters during its impressive 40 years on air but the current stars are:
Jon Kay – Since 2022
Sally Nugent – Since 2021
Charlie Stayt – Since 2006
Naga Munchetty – Since 2014
Carol Kirkwood – Since 1997
Back in the breakfast studio, his colleague Sally remarked: “You’re dying to do that, aren’t you!”
However, Jon clarified that he was joking, adding: “It was a lucky win.”
This comes after several co-stars vanished from screens last week in a huge line-up shakeup.
Eagle-eyed viewers tuned into see that Sally had been replaced in a hosting shake-up.
The star’s absence wasn’t explained, with familiar face Nina Warhurst fronting the show instead.
