Fresh marine air brings clearer skies to Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- After days of hazy, smoky skies over the region, Monday is the day we finally begin to get rid of most of that upper-level smoke from those wildfires in central and eastern Oregon.
The wind will switch around to the west and that will help to usher in some fresh marine air from the Pacific Ocean. Temperatures will also begin to cool from the Oregon coast to the Cascades.
We will see highs right around 80 in the Willamette Valley and in the upper 60s along the coast on Monday. The coast will also start out with some fog and low clouds, but that should clear out by the afternoon, revealing some sun breaks.
The Willamette Valley will see mostly sunny skies after some brief morning clouds. All in all, a very comfortable day on the way.
The biggest change in the forecast comes midweek as a trough of low pressure dips down from Canada and brings with it much cooler temperatures and a chance for scattered showers on Wednesday.
Until then, enjoy another dry and comfortable day on Monday
