PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Four people and two dogs were displaced from their home after a “stubborn” house fire in the Lincoln neighborhood Monday morning, according to Clark County fire officials.
Crews responded to the fire around 7 a.m. near 5000 NW Eighth Avenue, where firefighters helped the residents and their two dogs escape to the backyard. Officials added that the group was “temporarily stranded due to the heat of the blaze.”
“Neighbors say there were explosions from what they thought sounded like fireworks coming from the blaze,” according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and firefighters were still on the scene at 10:30 a.m.
