But that’s not all, a whole host of new features are on the way and existing features are rolling out to eve more Apple fans.

Apple’s Roadside Assistance via satellite feature helps users with car trouble while they’re off-grid and without any phone signal or Wi-Fi.

It lets iPhone owners contact AAA using satellite connection via test or call, rather than a standard mobile network.

The feature was first unveiled with the iPhone 15 lineup, and later rolled out to iPhone 14 models.

However, it has only been available in the US, where some international travellers were able to use it.

With iOS 18, the feature is finally coming to the UK.

The iPhone 16, which runs on iOS 18, will also let users share video in emergency responders.

And you can also send texts via Satellite in the US and Canada.

Emergency SOS and Find My via satellite is being rolled out to 17 countries as well, including the UK, Australia, Canada, France and Germany.

Onlookers reckon the Roadside Assistance via satellite feature will be rolled out to more countries in the coming months, although Apple has yet to confirm this.

The new satellite features have wowed onlookers on social media.

Texting from satellites is a flex though, Apple turning every phone to a satellite phone.

Although some note that it infringes on their ability to ‘switch off’ from the digital world.

“Satellite texting is SICK. nice move @Apple,” wrote one fan.

Another added: “Texting from satellites is a flex though, Apple turning every phone to a satellite phone.”

While a third wrote: “Apple really wants me to brain rot via satellite I can’t even disconnect while backpacking now.”
