APPLE has unveiled a landmark new Sleep Apnea Detection tool inside the new Apple Watch 10.
The feature is able to alert wearers that they might be suffering from sleep apnea, a chronically underdiagnosed condition.

The bigger, brighter screen also lends itself to showing a clear picture even at an angle.
There are also two new artificial intelligence (AI) features built in.
Dr. Sumbul Desai, Apple’s vice president of health, said that 80 per cent of people with sleep apnea are undiagnosed.
Using the new Breathing Disturbances feature, the Apple Watch 10 can track your sleep breaking for 30 days.
If your breathing shows signs of the condition, which causes your breathing to stop and restart while you sleep, you will receive a pop-up alert for “possible sleep apnea”.
The feature has been validated by a clinical study.
“We are so excited about the incredible impact this feature can make for millions of people living undiagnosed with sleep apnea,” said Dr. Desai.
Onlookers on social media platform X have called it a “life saving addition”.
Tech analyst at PP Foresight, Paulo Pescatore, noted that Apple has doubled down on its pivot towards new health features this year.
People are becoming more conscious about their health, and want to buy devices that will empower them to improve their everyday life.

The sleep apnea feature will also be available on some older models, such as the Series 9 and Ultra 2.
Apple Intelligence – the tech giant’s AI effort – will also be injected into the Apple Watch 10.
Photo Face will skim through your photo album and pick out all the best snaps for your Apple Watch lock screen, while AI will also help enable rapid language translation.
Crash and Fall Detection are also coming to the wearable device.
