Caleb Williams Had An Epic Trash Talk Moment Everybody Missed

Caleb Williams was the first to say he didn’t have a good game in the opener against Tennessee. While his decision-making was mostly fine, his accuracy was not. He missed a number of throws that led to the offense never finding any rhythm. It wasn’t the showing anyone wanted, but that didn’t mean Williams lacked investment in the game. Far from it. Constant camera shots from the sideline showed him cheering every big play by the defense and special teams. He was constantly encouraging offensive teammates, telling them they were still in it.

He also wasn’t afraid to do some trash talking. Cameras picked up on one such moment late in the game. Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was shouting at him after a play, no doubt taking digs at the Bears’ lack of offensive success. Williams turned to him and only had one thing to say.

“Look at the fucking score.”

Caleb Williams knew how to go right for the throat.

Simmons and the rest of the Titans’ defensive front had a tremendous game. They were in Williams’ face all day. He was unimpressed with the rookie and said so after the game. Yet, the fact remains that he had no answer for the rebuttal. Despite his best efforts, the Titans still lost 24-17. Caleb Williams may not have engineered the comeback personally, but he played a small part in it and didn’t mind offering a reminder that all of Simmons’ efforts had led to precisely nothing. If the Bears quarterback is like this when he doesn’t have a great game, one can only imagine how much more insufferable he’ll be once the light goes on.
