Live updates: Trump and Harris clash in first 2024 debate

Former President Trump and Vice President Harris are set to face-off in their first, and perhaps only, 2024 debate Tuesday.

The 90-minute debate hosted by ABC News will be moderated by “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and ABC News Live “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis. There will be no audience in attendance and mics will be muted when it's not a candidate's turn to speak.

Recent polls show a tight race between Harris and Trump in the seven key battleground states that will help determine who is next elected to the White House.

Tuesday’s debate gives both candidates their biggest shot at shaking up what has so-far been a deadlocked race.
