Amsterdam man charged with menacing, weapon possession
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- New York State Police arrested an Amsterdam man for allegedly holding a knife to another person's neck during a verbal argument. Law enforcement said Anthony M. Lotman, 27, was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Troopers responded to a disturbance around 9:30 p.m. on Veeders Mill in Amsterdam. During the investigation, Troopers said they found Lotman had brandished a knife, holding it against the victim's neck.
The victim was able to escape the scene unharmed, and Troopers found Lotman near the scene with the knife in his possession. He was processed at the State Police barracks in Fonda, issued an appearance ticket for Amsterdam Town Court on Thursday, Sept. 12, and released.
