NYSP: East Berne man charged with weapon possession
EAST BERNE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- State Police arrested an East Berne man on Friday for allegedly brandishing a weapon at a person he was in a verbal argument with. Troopers said Wayne D. Miller, 24, was charged with second and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.
Troopers said they were called to Heritage Way in Wilton around 8:18 p.m. for a reported dispute with a handgun. While investigating, Troopers said they learned Miller knew the victim and were arguing, which led to Miller pointing a gun at the victim.
Troopers said Miller fled the scene in a vehicle before they arrived and was located by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office in the woods near Sitterly Road in Clifton Park. Saratoga County deputies used a K9 to find the gun and Miller's belongings that were in the area where he was apprehended.
Troopers processed Miller at the State Police barracks in Wilton. He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and remains in Saratoga County Jail in place of $5,000 cash bail, $10,000 bond, or $100,000 partially secured bond.
