Beyoncé’s Idea of Fun?
On September 10, 2024, something remarkable happened, and we’re not talking about the presidential debate: GQ was allowed to release some email correspondence with Beyoncé. The famously elusive pop star doesn’t do much press these days (no intereviews for her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter) but apparently wanted to get the word out about her new [checks notes] whiskey. So she sat at her iMac and typed for a bit. What did we learn about? Bey’s range of unrelatable hobbies as she attempted to answer a question about making time for herself. “I make honey, paint, decorate, swim, and design clothes and stages,” she said. “I have written children’s books for my children and design animation.” Only Virgos consider this a break.
Notably, she preceded this talk of hobbies by asserting that singing is also not work for her. “I sing for me,” she said. “I love music and I love to sing.” To us that means one thing: All these hobbies must be a distraction from the fact that Act III is coming. Rock album tonite, queen?
