Police: Suspect in San Antonio deadly shooting may be in Austin
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- San Antonio police believe a suspect connected to a deadly shooting that happened in July may be in Austin.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the shooting happened around 9:37 p.m. on July 7 at the Sonic Drive-In located at 5510 Babcock Road in San Antonio.
SAPD and EMS responded and located a victim, identified as Daniel Lacy Shrewsbury, who was the manager of the Sonic location. Police said he had been shot in the chest and died on the scene.
Police said Shrewsbury was shot by a customer, identified as Adiah Namir Roberson. SAPD said she had, "created a disturbance over counterfeit money she had passed and stealing money," according to a release from SAPD.
According to the release, when Shrewsbury was arriving to work, he learned that Roberson had taken money from an employee.
Shrewsbury went outside to take a photo of the suspect vehicle’s license plate, and the person who was with Roberson "became upset and threatened to assault" Shrewsbury and warned him he was going to get shot, according to SAPD.
Roberson then exited the suspect vehicle with a gun and shot Shrewsbury, according to SAPD.
A homicide arrest warrant was issued for Roberson. According to SAPD, Roberson has eluded law enforcement since then.
SAPD said Roberson is wanted for Murder and Forgery Govt/National Inst/Money/Security.
Police are looking for information on Roberson’s whereabouts and believe she may be in Austin.
