Filming on beloved Prime show ‘paused’ midway through season three as fans plead for bosses not to cancel it

FILMING on a popular Prime Video series has been halted midway through amid fears the show could be axed.

Whilst it had already been confirmed that the impending series of the David Tennant-led show Good Omens would be the final ever one, speculation is now mounting that it may not make it to air after bosses decided to ‘pause’ filming.

Filming for Good Omens third series had gotten under way in Scotland but has since been brought to a dramatic halt with actors and crew having departed the show’s set.

According to Deadline, the programme makers are now discussing “possible production changes” amid the filming of the show.

The decision comes in the wake of a number of sexual assault allegations against the show’s writer and executive producer Neil Gaiman.

Up to four women recently came forward detailing a number of allegations against Neil Gaiman as part of the podcast Master: the Allegations Against Neil Gaiman.

He denied all the allegations and insisted he was “disturbed” by the claims.

It comes a week after Disney pulled the plug on a planned feature of Neil’s 2008 work The Graveyard Book.

The streamer also ‘paused’ work on the programme but insiders told Deadline “multiple factors” went into this decision in light of the assault allegations.

Amid the news that the show is on hold, panicked fans have been left begging Prime not to axe the show entirely with one saying: “PLEASE KEEP GOOD OMENS SEASON 3 ALIVE! Make whatever production changes you need to, but PLEASE DON’T CANCEL IT!!”

As another added: “I hope they don’t cancel it!”

In Good Omens, former Doctor Who actor David stars alongside Michael Sheen in the popular show.

Good Omens is based on the book written by Neil Gaiman alongside the late Sir Terry Pratchett.

The final series will follow plans that the two writers mapped out 35 years ago in hopes of a television adaptation.

Neil said: “I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006. Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season One was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World…

“Season Two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in Season Three, we will deal once more with the end of the world…

“The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren’t talking.

As well as airing on Prime Video, the show is broadcast on BBC Two, having been created by the BBC Studios.
