US Open fans left stunned by ‘ridiculous’ $100 chicken nuggets price – and you only get six

TENNIS fans have flocked to Flushing Meadows to devour this year’s most chic snack – a caviar-covered chicken nugget.

Peckish spectators at this year’s US Open have forked out $100 for six golden pieces of heaven.

Created by chefs at Coqodaq in midtown Manhattan, the special nuggets were on sale during this weekend’s men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz.

Fans could only access the stall if they held a ticket for the elite club level at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The stall sold roughly 100,000 handmade nuggets through the two-week tournament, per The NY Times.

Various nugget boxes were on offer, with the majority doing away with traditional condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise.

Fans could enjoy a single nugget with no topping for as little as $4.25, per the Times report.

This increases to a whopping $100 for six if purchasing the 24 Karat Edition.

Social media has gone wild for the costly snack, which features Petrossian caviar and a dot of creme fraiche.

The stall also sold another version of the nugget topped with black truffles and truffle mayo, priced at $16.67 each.

“I’m hungry. It’s different. I’m here for it,” one fan told The NY Times.

“This seems excessive, unnecessary, and unappetizing,” countered another tennis fan on X.

“If you’re sitting at the US Open, money isn’t an issue. How’s the quality of the caviar??” commented a second.

“The 100 with caviar is a steal – it’s $30 each at the restaurant,” argued a third.

On the court, tennis fans were denied a classic on Sunday afternoon as No. 1 seed Sinner cruised to victory over Fritz in straight sets.

The match was watched in person by pop sensation Taylor Swift, who was joined in an exclusive suite by her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

'Well-talked-about personal life'

Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.

But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cagey response.

“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce told GMA.

“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off that way when I’m playing football.

“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road.

“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

Taylor and Travis were spotted packing on the PDA as they cheered on home favorite Fritz.

The NFL star was mocked for his “KFC bucket hat” by fans watching on TV.

But there was no evidence the pair tucked into the $100 nugget box.

Swift and Kelce headed off after the game into Manhattan, dining at a swanky Mediterranean restaurant in the city’s Meatpacking District.

The loved-up couple were joined by Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany.

Kelce penned a new two-year deal with the Chiefs over the offseason and is hoping to help them to a historic three-peat.
