Dave Grohl called wife Jordyn Blum his ‘future ex’ – years before he fathered secret love child
UNDER fire Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who this week revealed that he’s fathered a love child outside of his marriage, referred to his wife Jordyn Blum an his ‘ex’ in an unearthed interview.
After 21-years of marriage and three children, Grohl could lay claim to having one of the strongest unions in showbiz.
But this week the shock news of his adultery came to light, after he released a statement to say that a baby daughter had been born out of wedlock and he would try to be a ‘supportive father to her.”
Now, somewhat eerily, a 2007 interview with GQ magazine has surfaced, where Grohl appears to make a prediction about their relationship.
The 55-year-old describes how he’d met his wife Jordyn Blum, then a teenage model and Nirvana fan girl, back in the mid 90s.
He said: “Taylor and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor.
‘I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood. She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, “Oh my God. Not a chance!”. So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jackass.
And by the end of the night I was p***ed and I’m staring at her going, “You’re my future ex-wife”. So she gave me her number: ‘”Jordyn, your future ex-wife”.’
The couple died the knot in LA in 2003 and later welcomed three daughters, Violet, 18, Harper, 15 and Ophelia, 10.
Following the news of his infidelity, which shocked fans around the world, Grohl insisted that as well as supporting his new daughter he would also be doing what he can to mend his marriage. He said in the statement:
‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.’
Dave Grohl had been the drummer in Nirvana until the group unravelled in 1994 followed the suicide of lead singer and guitarist, Kurt Cobain aged 27.
Grohl then set up the Foo Fighters in 1995 first as a solo project, before inviting other musicians on board to join him .
As a successful model, Jordyn had appeared in campaigns for make up brand Maybelline and had been a regular cover girl for Teen Magazine from 1990.
A die0hard Nirvana fan, Jordyn initially met Grohl in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood California, where he was hanging out with his late bandmate Taylor Hawkins.
Married to one of the richest men in rock with a personal fortune of around 300 million, Jordyn, whom Dave once described as his “anchor,” would no doubt receive a generous settlement if the couple decided that divorce was the only way forward.
Indeed their last public appearance since the news broke, was a Wimbledon earlier this year, where Grohl appeared snappy and irritable with reporters.
Only time will tell whether their long standing union can be saved in view of the recent revelations.

On Tuesday Dave Grohl released the following statement on his instagram. It's not clear what his motivation was for sharing the news, but the question now remains whether he can salvage his marriage
‘I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.
‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.’
