The Bernini Loupe necklace: Pomellato’s ode to art and preservation
Pomellato unveils the Bernini Loupe high jewellery necklace, a striking jewel that underscores the brand’s dedication to Italian art and craftsmanship. Designed to mark Pomellato’s ongoing collaboration with Venetian Heritage, this one-of-a-kind creation merges elegance with purpose, embodying the house's commitment to preserving Italy’s cultural treasures.
A rose gold pendant, is suspended from the necklace. The pendant features a domed rock crystal cut to resemble a magnifying glass—a nod to the intricate beauty of Bernini’s sculptures. Subtle and mysterious, the gem evokes the light of Venice in autumn, its brilliance enhanced by a halo of diamonds, evoking the luminous quality of Bernini’s masterpieces.
“The Bernini Loupe necklace invites us to pause and appreciate beauty up close, just as Bernini’s works demand careful attention to detail,” says Vincenzo Castaldo, Pomellato’s Creative Director.
The release coincides with Pomellato’s ongoing support for Venetian Heritage, an international foundation dedicated to preserving Venice’s artistic and architectural heritage. Building on the success of last year’s Ca’ d’Oro façade illumination, Pomellato’s 2024 efforts will once again focus on this iconic Venetian landmark. The initiative includes the preservation of significant artworks, such as terracotta models by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Stefano Maderno’s Labours of Hercules, and sculptures by Camillo Rusconi.
Pomellato’s contribution will fund the installation of five state-of-the-art display cases in the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti at the Ca’ d’Oro, ensuring these fragile masterpieces are preserved and presented to the public in their full glory. “Our collaboration with Venetian Heritage is rooted in a shared commitment to safeguarding Italy’s artistic legacy,” says Sabina Belli, CEO of Pomellato Group. “With the Bernini Loupe necklace, we celebrate not just our craftsmanship, but the enduring beauty of Italian art.”
Toto Bergamo Rossi, Director of Venetian Heritage, praises Pomellato’s support: “The Bernini terracotta models are true treasures. The new display cases will not only protect these masterpieces but also enhance the visitor experience. This partnership with Pomellato is a crucial step in our broader restoration of the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti at the Ca’ d’Oro.”
Pomellato recently celebrated this collaboration with a successful gala dinner during the Venice Film Festival, where Venice’s rich cultural heritage and the enduring link between fashion and art were honoured.
The Bernini Loupe high jewellery necklace is available exclusively at Pomellato’s Venice boutique on Calle Larga XXII Marzo.
