Small and southerly under grey skies

Hello Friends,

The wind starting moving around to the southerly quarters overnight and as of 0700 it was 15-26 kts from the south. Swell at the Botany Bay buoy was 1.9 metres from the south at a choppy 6 seconds. That short period means any sheltered corners will be shadowed from the swell. If you’re keen and you can go this morning, there could be some catchable if textured knee to waist high waves.

As for the outlook, I’m hoping the Goat will be along with his usual weekend and week-ahead surf thoughts.

Go well!

Weather Situation

A cold front and associated trough currently in the southeast, will continue to sweep across the central and northern coast today, reaching the Queensland border by this evening. This system brings a fresh to strong southerly wind change in its wake. The southerly airstream will somewhat ease later this week as a high pressure ridge follows the front, before southerly winds increase again over the weekend as another cold front moves along the coast.
