FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Wednesday Evening,
It has been a very dry and warm day again with highs back up near 90. We will see mostly clear and season temps tonight with lows in the mid to upper 50s to near 60 in town. Some clouds will return to the forecast for Thursday later, but shouldn't have much impact on temps as highs will climb to the upper 80s.
Expect the remnants from Hurricane Francine to continue up the Mississippi River, but will get stalled out by a strong area of high pressure over our area. This may let a few isolated showers in the far southwest part of the state, but it does appear the high will be strong enough to continue to keep us dry. With drier conditions expected this weekend, highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s.
Next week will be warm early with highs in the middle to upper 80s on Monday under mostly sunny skies. Tuesday we will be watching for moisture building off the Atlantic coast of the Carolinas. Moisture will sneak up to the northwest towards our area, but again, this moisture should weaken as it encounters our dry air. One thing that might work in our favor, is the stubbornly tough blocking pattern may weaken a bit by the middle of next week. Temps should remain above normal through the period in the mid 80s next week.
