Elon Musk Makes Taylor Swift 'Creepy' Offer After Presidential Endorsement

Following Tuesday night's presidential debate, as expected, Taylor Swift finally endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in what was clearly not-so-subtle timing. And while Swift's endorsement quickly rallied Harris supporters, it also inadvertently elicited a remark from Elon Musk that many quickly branded as "creepy."

The 34-year-old, who has no children but three cats—Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, the latter of which accompanied her announcement—signed off her Instagram post, "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady," in a reference to vice presidential candidate JD Vance's 2021 comments to Tucker Carlson. At the time, the Hillbilly Elegy author claimed that the United States was being run by "childless cat ladies" who "force their misery on the rest of the country."

Shortly after Swift posted her endorsement, Musk weighed in on X, formerly Twitter, the platform he bought for $44 billion in 2022 and subsequently caused many users and advertisers alike to flee en masse.

"Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life," Musk wrote, perhaps referring to the 12 children he's fathered with three different women.

Regardless of ones own political opinion, most people probably agree that publicly offering to impregnate a woman you don't know isn't going to paint you in a very positive light, and—like many of Musk's would-be zingers—this one also fell decidedly flat in his expensive echo chamber.

"Am I reading this right that you are offering to have a child with Taylor Swift," wrote one user, while others chimed in with remarks such as "This is so weird man," "This s--t is creepy man," and "You are creepy and weird."

Others wondered what Swift's enormous, six-foot-five Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce would make of the indecent proposition. "Mmm you can sit this one out little fella," quipped another user, among other observations.

But while the internet certainly had fun with Musk's creepy remark, it seems highly unlikely that Swift or Kelce will dignify it with a response. Still, he may want to keep his distance from the three-time Super Bowl champion at the next Met Gala, or wherever else they may cross paths.
