UK's first turbaned Sikh MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi elected Chairman of Defence Committee

Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, Britain's first turbaned Sikh MP, has been elected Chairman of the Defence Committee in the new Parliament. The Labour MP from Slough won with 320 votes against fellow Labour MP Derek Twigg's 243 votes. Dhesi aims to address growing threats and advocate for Armed Forces personnel and veterans.
