Selling Sunset stars say ‘flirty’ Joey Essex tried to date controversial cast member before Love Island appearance
TWO Selling Sunset stars have opened up on what Joey Essex was like on the show, and said he tried to date a cast member.
Joey, 34, appeared on Selling Sunset’s most recent series, in scenes filmed before he met Jessy Potts on Love Island.
Towie legend Joey left viewers of Netflix show Selling Sunset stunned when he popped up in episode nine of Selling Sunset’s season 8.
On the show he is seen being shown a breathtaking property listed at $5.25 million (£4M) by Oppenheim agent Chelsea Lazkani.
And later on in the clip, another Oppenheim agent – Emma Hernan – walks in, and fans noticed how things seemed very ‘flirty’ between the pair.
But as Chelsea and co-star Mary Bonnet spoke to The Sun on the NTAs red carpet, the glamorous agents confirmed Joey’s efforts with Emma came to nothing.
Chelsea told us: “I mean Joey Essex is so funny, he’s a little bit cocky and he thinks he can get all the birds but he couldn’t get the one bird he actually wanted, which was Emma.
“She was like absolutely not. I had her come there to hopefully help him purchase the house as an incentive but as soon as the listing was done I was like to her ‘you’re not going on a date with him.’
“I’m really good friends with his cousin Chloe Sims so I actually already knew Joey through her.”
On the show, Chelsea said of Joey: “My client said one word, sexy.
“He’s from London, he’s moving to LA, as you know when people move to LA they want to be in the Hollywood Hills with the views and they want to entertain.
“He’s a single lad and wants to impress the ladies.”
Joey was impressed, and said: “Well I like it, you’ve got good taste. I’m happy you’ve shown me this place.”Joey has since met Jessy and has rid himself of the single status, and clearly impressed by the possibility of living it up in the plush property with her man, Joey’s girlfriend commented by saying: “If you want me to tiptoe in my lingerie then you can just ask!”
Joey’s girlfriend Jessy Potts’ looks were often compared to Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan’s, with many Love Island viewers saying the pair looked “like twins.”
