Car mounts pavement and hits three schoolgirls before driving off in shocking hit-and-run
THREE teenage schoolgirls have been left seriously injured after a horror hit-and-run.
The shocking incident occurred at around 4.30 pm on September 10, 2024, when the young victims were walking on the pavement.
The terrifying hit and run took place on Whitelow Road in Heaton Moor, Stockport.
Initial reports suggest a car, travelling at high speed, swerved onto the pavement to avoid an oncoming vehicle and ploughed into the girls.
The teenagers were rushed to hospital with severe leg injuries that will require surgery.
Sergeant Paul Lunt, from Greater Manchester Police‘s Roads Policing Unit, said: “The victims were just walking on the pavement when a car mounted the pavement and collided with them, causing them serious injuries before driving off, leaving the girls injured by the road.”
He added: “There were a number of people at the scene, either walking past or in the vicinity of Whitelow Road.
“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have dash cam footage, CCTV, or ring doorbell footage showing a silver VW Golf car driving in the area between 4:15-4:45 pm.
“After the collision, the VW Golf had a smashed windscreen, so should be quite distinctive.”
Police are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.
