North Carolina Voters Face Setback As Ballots Delayed Due To RFK Jr.’s Name
Well, it looks like North Carolinians who plan to vote by mail this election season will have to wait longer for their ballots, thanks to former 3rd party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

As reported by WRAL, the state Supreme Court ruled late Monday (Sept. 9) that officials must remove RFK Jr.’s name from the millions of ballots it finished printing last month. As you know, RFK Jr. suspended his campaign in recent weeks and began publicly endorsing GOP presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
Because of the decision, North Carolina is now expected to miss the legal deadline to start sending ballots by at least two weeks.
Despite state officials arguing that the move could cost state taxpayers $1 million of their dollars, the Supreme Court claims that it was worth the loss to ensure no voter confusion.
Justice Trey Allen wrote for the majority:
“We acknowledge that expediting the process of printing new ballots will require considerable time and effort by our election officials and significant expense to the state. But that is a price the North Carolina Constitution expects us to incur to protect voters’ fundamental right to vote their conscience and have that vote count.”
Kennedy’s motives have been put into question as of late. Originally, he fought to get on as many ballots as possible, prompting a lawsuit by the North Carolina Democratic Party. State Democrats tried to kick him off the ballot due to fears that he might take votes away from Vice President Kamala Harris in the race.
Kennedy won the lawsuit less than a month ago. However, after polling began to show that his inclusion was actually taking more votes away from Trump, Kennedy dropped out of the race and endorsed the former President. He then sued to ask state courts to force the ballot reprint.
Despite claiming this legal victory in North Carolina (a key battleground state), Kennedy was less successful elsewhere. On Monday, NBC News reported that Michigan’s Supreme Court ruled that he must stay on their ballots.
