Janet Jackson Recalls Wardrobe Malfunction Where She Nearly Flashed Queen Elizabeth

Janet Jackson recalled a very awkward wardrobe malfunction that happened during a performance in front of the late Queen Elizabeth.

The 58-year-old pop icon recently revisited some of her iconic looks during an interview with British Vogue.

One of the featured outfits she wore in 1990 while accepting her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is closely associated with her album Rhythm Nation 1814, and she also wore it onstage for performances.

One of those shows was in front of the Queen, and it went very badly for her.

“Funny story about this outfit: I was performing for the Queen of England, and we were doing ‘Rhythm Nation.’ Sure enough, soon as I squatted, my pants split right in my booty crack. I couldn’t believe it happened. I thought, ‘Oh my god.’ And then I started feeling air back there so I knew it had really happened,” Janet recalled.

She continued, revealing how she dealt with the situation: “So I never turned my back on her, which some of the choreography was supposed to. I just faced forward.”

“Can you imagine if I just would’ve flashed her for just like a hot second,” she wondered.

Janet also suffered an infamous wardrobe malfunction during a Super Bowl Halftime Show performance with Justin Timberlake back in 2004.
