Patriots Planning Tremendous Troll Job For Seahawks Matchup

The Patriots introduced a new tradition in 2023, with Tom Brady serving as the first "Keeper of the Light" and ringing the bell atop the stadium's new lighthouse before the team's season-opening matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

How do you match that in 2024? New England is just going to troll the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots on Thursday announced that they will welcome back Malcolm Butler as the "Keeper of the Light" on Sunday. Butler will be joined by more than 20 former teammates and coaches as the club commemorates the 10-year anniversary of its Super Bowl XLIX victory.

LeGarrette Blount, Alan Branch, Marcus Cannon, Patrick Chung, Jamie Collins, Dan Connolly, James Devlin, Dominique Easley, Stephen Gostkowski, Jonas Gray, Brandon LaFell, Rob Ninkovich, Matt Patricia, Nate Solder, Sebastian Vollmer and Brian Hoyer are other notable names expected to attend.

Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski were invited to attend, but cannot due to their broadcasting obligations -- which was made abundantly clear in New England's press release.

It'll be interesting to see how the team performs with so many champions in attendance, including itws own head coach.
