Berne man charged with child sex abuse image possession

BERNE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police reported the arrest of Anthony Rera, 29, of Berne, following a sex crime investigation. Rera faces multiple felony charges.

According to state police, Rera is accused of possessing images depicting the sexual abuse of children. An investigation stemming from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to a search warrant being executed at Rera's home in Berne, which resulted in him being taken into custody.

Rera was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child. He was remanded to the Schoharie County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
