Watch Eden Hazard get mercilessly booed in CHARITY MATCH as fans refuse to forget Chelsea legend’s past

CHELSEA legend Eden Hazard was mercilessly booed by fans during a charity match this week.

The former Blues star only retired from football a year ago at the age of 32.

The Lille legend turned out for a Ligue 1 Legends XI against fierce rivals Lens

But he returned to the pitch on Wednesday in a charity game between former Lens players and Ligue 1 legends.

A former French league champion, Hazard turned out for the latter as he showed off his skills once more.

But every touch was booed by supporters despite the kind-hearted nature of the game.

That’s because Hazard is a legend at Ligue 1 side Lille, whose fiercest rivals are none other than Lens.

And Hazard had to endure jeers from their supporters throughout the game.

But the winger had the last laugh as he rounded Lens’ goalkeeper to fire home for the Legends, who lost 2-1.

It’s not the first time Hazard has returned to the field since retiring.

In June he featured for the Rest of the World in Soccer Aid at Wembley.

And later that month he also turned out in his homeland for Belgian minnows Royale Union Tubize-Braine against national giants Anderlecht.

Hazard’s side lost 4-1, but again he got on the scoresheet with a dazzling strike that saw him jinx past several defenders.

It brought back fond memories of his peak days in the Premier League, with Hazard going past opponents with ease on a regular basis.

He joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 before going on to score 110 goals in 352 games.

Hazard bagged two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues and an FA Cup before Real Madrid came calling.

He completed a £130million move to Los Blancos in 2019 but was unable to hit the same heights due to numerous injury problems.

Hazard ended up scoring just seven goals in 76 games during a four-year spell before ripping up his contract and retiring last October.
