Fire breaks out in Kissonerga community council truck
A fire in a community council vehicle in Kissonerga was extinguished by fire services in the early hours on Friday.
According to the police, the fire in the double cabin truck broke out shortly before 2am in the parking lot of the Kissonerga community council office, on Charalambou Karagianni street.
Police and the fire service went to the scene and put out the fire which nonetheless caused extensive damages to the vehicle.
Officers cordoned off the scene while the electromechanical unit, as as well as the crime department, are carrying out investigations.
The vehicle had allegedly stood immobile for a period of time due to various mechanical and electronic problems, police said.
The case is under ongoing investigation.
