Team News: Ange Postecoglou provides positive update on two players ahead of Arsenal
Ange Postecoglou has provided a team news update ahead of Sunday’s match against Arsenal during this afternoon’s press conference at Hotspur Way.
The North London derby takes place on Sunday
The visitors will likely have to do without captain Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori for the North London derby, while Spurs are looking to record their first win in the fixture since May 2022.
Tottenham are looking to bounce back in the best possible way having suffered their first defeat of the Premier League campaign at Newcastle United last time out.
Arsenal are unbeaten so far this season, however, did they drop their their first pants before the international break when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs first-team squad ahead of the clash against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Micky van de Ven missed the Newcastle defeat
Tottenham were without the services of central defender Micky van de Ven for their last fixture and was replaced by Radu Dragusin in the starting eleven.
Dominic Solanke is also back in training and in contention to feature.
Postecoglou told the official Spurs site: “It’s fairly positive. Micky’s good, he’s trained all the way through the international break and it was good for him to stay with us to build him back up so he’s ready to go.
“Dom’s improved as well and trained the back half of this week. We still have two days to go with those guys so hopefully they get through training ok and are available.”
