Pause in the rain, Portland area prepares for more this weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A pause in the rain will keep temperatures mild as a mix of clouds and sun ends the mild week of weather in the Pacific Northwest.

Drying skies will help warm temperatures into the low- to mid-70s along the Willamette Valley today. Patchy morning fog will clear by the mid-morning hours. A light drizzle is possible along the coast, but won't make it over the Coast Range until the start of Saturday.

Western Oregon and southwest Washington will see the moisture return in the form of a few light, scattered rain showers Saturday. Rain accumulation will be minimal through the weekend. The weekend will remain drier then rainy across the region.

Temperatures will remain cooler than average through the middle and end of next week. That comes with highs ranging anywhere from the mid-60s to the low 70s. The best chance for widespread, accumulative rain showers returns to the greater Portland, Vancouver area Tuesday.
