Altamont Fair presents Harvest and Wine Festival

ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Altamont Fair presents the all-new Harvest and Wine Festival at the Altamont Fairgrounds. The festival will run on September 21 and 22.

On September 21, the festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on September 22, it will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A variety of wines, spirits, and ciders will be available for tasting along with a commemorative tasting glass available with the purchase of a tasting ticket.

Not only will there be a tasting area, but there will also be live music, kid's activities like bouncy houses, a hay maze, and face painting, lots of food, as well as a place to pick out your favorite pumpkins, gourds, and fall produce. There will also be a craft show with a variety of local vendors.

The festival also includes a cooking demonstration by Karen Sullivan of Maisie's Events and Catering and a wine-tasting class with Greg Giorgio, which are both limited to 25 people. The cooking demonstration is happening on both days at noon and the wine-tasting class is at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on both days.

Admission is $10 for people 16 years and older. Those 15 years old and under get in for free with a paid adult.

Two-day admission tickets are $15. Tasting tickets are available for $8 at the 1890's tasting area and you must be 21 and older to purchase one.

The Harvest and Wine Festival will also be partnering with Steve Caporizzo's Pet Connection to collect pet food donations. All donations will go to the Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville and those who donate get $1 off their admission price.
