Very warm, dry weekend, no drought relief in the short term

High pressure over the Northeast will continue draw warm air northward in a southerly flow. Temperatures will rise to upper 80s, 10 degrees above normal, through the weekend. The early mornings will be mild, with temperatures in the low to mid-60s.

Skies will be partly cloudy, as high-level moisture streams northward from the remnants of Francine, which sill stall over the middle Mississippi Valley. A few showers could reach the southwestern corner of the state, but blocking high pressure will keep the region dry this weekend.

The weather will be quiet through early next week, with little day-to-day variation in sky cover and temperature. A tropical disturbance will likely form along the Southeast coast and drift northward, spreading clouds in from the east, along with a chance for showers reaching parts of Ohio midweek.
