From Wednesday (September 18), 700 boozers will be able to bag a pint from £1.79 or a shot of Bell’s whisky and a mixer for the same price.

Meanwhile, you’ll be able to grab a pint of Stowford Press apple cider or a vodka mixer for £1.99.

And in more good news, Wetherspoons has confirmed that there is currently no end date set for these price reductions.

The full list of discount drinks includes:

  • A pint of Ruddles Best: £1.79
  • A single measure of Bell’s whisky with mixer: £1.79
  • A pint of Bud Light lager: £1.99

This news comes after Wetherspoons slashed the prices of its menu items to mark Tax Equality Day.

It meant punters looking to buy something got a 7.5% discount – so a normal £10 order would have costed £9.25.

Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin called for a 12.5% VAT cut, which he believes would help to prevent pubs, bars and restaurants closing across the UK.

He said: “The biggest threat to the hospitality industry is the vast disparity in tax treatment among pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.

“Supermarkets pay zero VAT in respect of food sales, whereas pubs, bars and restaurants pay 20%.

“This tax benefit allows supermarkets to subsidise the selling price of beer.”

Earlier this month, it slashed the price of a breakfast to £2.99 or less across 650 boozers.

On top of the 650 pubs offering the £2.99 or less offer, a further 129 are offering the small breakfast for £3.99.

The deal applies to Wetherspoon‘s small breakfast, which comes with a fried egg, bacon, Lincolnshire sausage, baked beans and hash brown (or potato scone in Scottish pubs).

Prices for the breakfast option vary across Spoons’ pubs, but normally sets customers back £4.45, meaning a saving of at least 32%.

Punters can add a Lavazza coffee or Twinings tea, as well as free refills, to the £2.99 or £3.99 offer for an extra £1.56.

Hungry customers can also add extras to the breakfast including black pudding, mushrooms, toast and tomatoes.

The Sticky Korean fried chicken bowl and the Sticky Korean fried Quorn “no chicken” bowl have also seen their sales extended, with no end date currently set.

Small breakfast

The price of small breakfasts across 650 JD Wetherspoons pubs has also been slashed this month indefinitely, with prices reduced to £2.99.

The deal only applies to the Wetherspoons small breakfast, which includes a fried egg, bacon, Lincolnshire sausage, baked beans and hash brown (or potato scone in Scottish pubs).

While prices do vary across the country, the breakfast would on average cost £4.45, meaning a saving of at least 32%.
