Biden and Harris have described Trump as a danger over his refusal to concede defeat in 2020.

Republican hopeful Trump referred to them calling him a “threat to democracy”.

Speaking of alleged gunman Ryan Routh, who has supported both major US parties, Trump added: “He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.

It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat.”

Trump has made claims about immigrants a key tactic as he prepares to face-off against Harris on November 5.

But he said he does not use the “inflammatory language” of the Democrats.

In a message on his social media network later, Trump said “the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse” before writing an all-capital letters attack on immigrants.

In Washington yesterday, Biden said he was thankful his predecessor survived the shooting attempt.

He also added that the US Secret Service “needs more help”.
