‘I do this once a year’ – Scots golf ace Bob MacIntyre says sorry for SWEARING on course but Andy Murray isn’t impressed

SCOTTISH golf hero Bob MacIntyre issued an apology after being caught turning the air blue at the Irish Open.

Admitting he “does this at least once a year”, the rueful Oban hero said sorry for swearing on the course but admitted he’s never going to change.

He wrote on X: “I am sorry for the swearing on course but guess what am not gonna change I play golf with heart and fight.”

That drew a light-hearted response from freshly-retired Scottish tennis hero Andy Murray, a man who has often been taken to task himself for his antics on court.

Pal Murray, who is set to partner MacIntyre at the BMW Open Pro-Am event only next week, said: “Hopefully we don’t hear any of those sort of words next Wednesday.

“I can guarantee you will see some thinned drives however!”

This time it was MacIntyre who responded: “Wait and f***ing see”

Murray brought his long goodbye to an end at the Paris Olympics last month.

He and Wimbledon said an emotional farewell to each other a few weeks earlier.

But moving to the golf course – a sport he and brother Jamie have dabbled in throughout their lives – has given the 37=year-old a focus after his retirement.

MacIntyre has admitted he’s excited to be teaming up with the tennis legend.

He said: “Andy is a hero to so many people in Scotland – and across the world – and it’s pretty exciting to be playing alongside him in his BMW Championship debut.”

“He’s been absolutely dedicated to tennis during his incredible career, but it looks like he’s been playing plenty of golf since his retirement, so I’m looking forward to seeing if all that practice has paid off!”

Murray will be joined by a host of other celebrities on the course as the players warm up for the event – one of the biggest outside golf’s majors.

Spiderman Tom Holland is also expected to tee the ball up alongside comedian Michael McIntyre and footballers Jordan Pickford and Gareth Bale.
