An adaption of Terry Gilliam‘s hit 1981 British family adventure movie, it ran for just ten episodes.

Included in the cast was Friends actress Lisa Kudrow, with the show created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi.

The show featured Kevin – an 11-year-old history buff as he forms an unlikely alliance with a group of thieves they embark on a mission to save his family around the world.

However, the series failed to rank in the top 10 and Apple TV+ bosses have brought the axe firmly down, according to Deadline.

The journey to get the TV adaption on the small screen was a lengthy one, with the streamer acquiring the rights to the movie six years ago.

Also starring in Time Bandits is Kal-EI Tuck, Tadhg Murphy, Rune Temte and Rachel House.

Meanwhile, Apple TV+ are bringing back Criminal Minds for a second series.

Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo will return as leading characters DCI Daniel Hegarty and DS June Lenker.

Series one launched on the streamer in January, with eight episodes.

In the second season, June is on the scene as a senior officer as a political rally faces an attack from far-right counter protesters.
