LOUISIANA (KLFY) - Forget about what the weather says, it's time to break out the Halloween decorations, apple cider and pumpkin scented candles. Here's a list of events and activities to help you get into the autumnal spirit.
Lafayette Parish
Lafayette Public Library's Fall Fest | Sept. 27
This event will be held at the main library from 4-5 p.m. The hour will include autumn-themed games, crafts and treats for the whole family to enjoy. Registration is not required to attend.
Cane Row Fall Festival | Oct. 12
The fall festival will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 1500 S. Bernard Road in Broussard. The event is free to attend and will include activities such as face painting, bounce houses, gardening presentations by experts, food trucks and more.
Youngsville Community Church Pumpkin Patch | Oct. 14 - Oct. 31
The pumpkin patch will be open 3-8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday; and 1 - 8 p.m. Sunday. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available for purchase and there are photo opportunities throughout the patch. It is located at 4129 Verot School Road in Youngsville.
Trunk or Treat at St. Julien Park | Oct. 19
The 6th annual event will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. It is free for families to attend. In addition to vendors passing out candy and treats to children, the event will include a live DJ, dancing, games, face painting, fun jumps, photo booth, food and a costume contest. Trunk or Treat at Hub City Ford | Oct. 26
This free event will be held from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The event will include a balloon artist, trunk or treat inside the showroom, a firetruck, animals from Rylan's Ranch and more. A costume contest will be held at 1 p.m.
Fright Trail | Fridays and Saturdays from Sept 27. to Nov. 2
General admission is $30. Tickets for "Frights without Lights Nights" (on Saturdays) is $40. Skip the Line tickets are $75. For more information about the trail, visit its website HERE.

Breaux Bridge Area of Commerce 2024 Pumpkin Patch | Oct. 12
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to pumpkins, the pumpkin patch will include arts and crafts, face painting, food, vendor booths and more. This is a cash only event.
St. Francis of Assisi Church Fall Festival | Oct. 4-6
This weekend-long festival will include a church rummage sale, concessions, fun jump, DJ, and more. For more information about the event, visit HERE.
Halloween Art & Nature Festival 2024 | Oct. 26
This year's theme is "Creepy Crawlers" with a focus on bugs. The event will include iron forging demos, the opportunity to meet insect and arthropod scientists, trick or treating, pumpkin decorating and more. Registration is required to attend but is free. Iberia Parish
New Iberia Halloween Parade | Oct. 26
At 4 p.m., the fountain outside New Iberia City Hall will be turned black. The Berry Queens will then kick off the start of the parade. After the parade, a Truck or Treat will be held at Bouligny Plaza. For information on how to participate in the parade, email hmallet@cityofnewiberia.com.
Frightmare on Main Street | Sept. 30 - Oct. 26
This outdoor trail is located on the grounds of the historic "Hot Sauce House" on Main Street in New Iberia, according to its website. The trail is available the last Saturday in September, the last three Fridays in October and the last four Saturdays in October. Tickets are sold from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. but the trail closes when the last ticket holder has gone through the attraction.
St. Landry Parish
Opelousas Downtown Market | Sept. 21
The market will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of Vine and S. Market Street in the St. Landry Bank parking lot. The event is free for the public to attend. The theme is "Harvest and Pumpkins."
Vermilion Parish
Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee | Oct. 5
This event, hosted by the Junior Auxiliary of Vermilion, starts at 5 p.m. with a costume contest at Magdalen Square. Tick-or-treating is from 6-8 p.m. If your business would like to participate, contact Hope Cleveland at 337-523-4558.
Halloween Celebration at Palmetto Island State Park | Oct. 26
Trick or treat at the campground from 4-6 p.m. Park admission applies.
Swamp Spirits 2024 | Oct. 1 - Dec. 27
This is a traveling exhibition that will be available for viewing at the Abbeville Cultural & Historical Alliance's Art Gallery. Ten local artists painted their interpretation of the same photograph. For more information, visit HERE.
