Huge US rock star takes brutal swipe at Oasis’s ticket prices during intimate London gig

GARAGE rock icon Jack White couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Oasis’s reunion tour when he performed an intimate gig in London.

The White Stripes guitar hero, 49, put on a raucous performance at the Islington Assembly, a far smaller venue than he usually plays.

Tickets for Noel and Liam Gallagher’s Oasis comeback tour have gone for far more than face value[/caption]

The pop-up show, that was announced just days before it took place, required fans to register for the chance to get a ticket – not too dissimilar to the tactic employed by Oasis.

However, the pricing was worlds apart, with White tickets selling for £55, a snip compared to Oasis’ £151 standing tickets – for those lucky enough to pay face value.

The disparity wasn’t lost on White, who sniped during his show: “This isn’t the kind of rock and roll you’re going to get at Wembley Stadium for £400.”

The 21-song setlist featured eight tracks from White’s latest album No Name, which was released out of the blue last month.

Lazaretto was the sole cut from the remainder of his solo catalogue, while he played six White Stripes songs, two Raconteurs efforts and the remainder were covers.

The show pulled in five-star reviews across the board as White returned to what he does best, rowdy rock ‘n’ roll full of breakdowns, jams and wailing guitar solos.

His swipe at Oasis came as we revealed the Gallagher brothers are set to rake in even more cash from the huge stadium tour after negotiating a lucrative hospitality deal.

The siblings were already in line to earn a staggering £50million from the reunion dates through ticket sales and merchandise.

They are also now taking up to 50 percent of food and drink sales across their 19 stadium and park dates next summer, boosting their coffers further.

A pint of beer is likely to cost around £8 at venues like Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park, which means the Gallaghers will pocket £4 from every drink.

An insider said: “It is not uncommon for top acts to get half of the bar and food take. After all, they are the ones who got the punters into the venues in the first place. And Oasis will bring along some very thirsty fans.”

A representative for the band declined to comment.

Tickets for the tour dates sold out straight away as some 10million fans registered to see the band on stage for the first time since 2009.

Standing tickets for the run sold for £151, though controversial dynamic pricing on Ticketmaster saw some fans charged £355 as demand surged upon release.

Not only will Liam and Noel make a killing from ticket sales and bar profits, but brands are falling over themselves to collaborate.

Liam has a £2.5million deal with fashion label Stone Island as well as trainers set to be released with Adidas.

Noel has plans to unveil a new Gibson guitar, having partnered with the firm previously.

US streetwear label Carhartt wants to join forces with the band for their US leg, which has yet to be officially confirmed

The band have announced 19 dates for next summer
