Irfan Pathan proves age is like a fine wine with last-over heroics in Legends League Cricket – WATCH
Jodhpur: Irfan Pathan once again proved age is like a fine wine as the former India seamer defended five runs in the last five balls to hand Konark Suryas Odisha record their first win in the Legends League Cricket 2024. Chasing 105 runs to win, Manipal Tigers needed 11 runs to win in the final over. Pathan bowled a wide in the first ball before being hit for a six by Anureet Singh in his first legal delivery of the over. With five needed in as many balls, the skipper conceded just three singles and took a wicket on the final ball to eke a narrow win for his team.

Earlier, Pathan top-scored for his team with 18 as Konark Suryas Odisha managed to score 104/9 in their stipulated 20 overs. Navin Stewart was the second-highest scorer for the team with 17 runs. In reply, Mahipal Tigers saw their top five batters get out for single digits before a late fightback from Daniel Christian (30) and Obus Pienaar (34) revived their innings. However, the 49-run stand between Christian and Pienaar went in vain as Pathan did the start turn with the ball.
