'Her husband is Jewish!' CNN's Tapper snaps at Tom Cotton for calling Harris antisemitic

Jake Tapper's interview with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on CNN Sunday morning went briefly off the rails as the two talked over each other after the Republican lawmaker accused Vice President Kamala Harris of hating Israel because he believes she is antisemitic.

That ended up being too much for the "State of the Union" host who called oy the GOP lawmaker and exclaimed, "Her husband is Jewish!"

With Tapper asking his guest about Donald Trump's recent comments that Jews would be to blame if he loses in November, Cotton continued to attack Harris by saying she is no friend of Israel and Tapper insisting he was talking about the former president's tenuous relationship with American Jews.

"Jake, Donald Trump, again has been saying for months that anyone who cares about Israel, anyone who cares about the fate of the U.S./Israel alliance should vote for him", Cotton attempted. "They shouldn't vote for Kamala Harris because Kamala Harris has consistently been the most anti-Israel voice"

"When was the last time Kamala Harris spoke about combating antisemitism?" Cotton asked.

"Her husband is Jewish and is in charge of a group about combating antisemitism in the United States!" Tapper shot back.

"But she has consistently been opposed to what Israel needs to win," Cotton parried.

"Again, I keep talking about Jewish voters in the United States and you keep talking about another ..." Tapper replied only to have Cotton talk over him and insist, "A lot of Jewish voters, just like a lot of Christian voters care deeply about the fate of the Jewish nation and the status of our relationship with Israel."

"Are you comfortable with him [Trump] blaming it on the Jews preemptively?" Tapper pressed.

"The point he is making is at anyone that cares about that relationship shouldn't vote for Kamala Harris they should vote for him and, again, he's been saying things like this, not just at antisemitism events, but speaking to Christians who care about Israel as well, for months," Cotton insisted. "The only reason the Democrats have latched onto it is that a poll..."

"No, no, no," Tapper interrupted. "This is the first time he has ever said, if I lose it will be the fault of Jews," the CNN host corrected him
