PL club eyeing move for attacker being ‘closely followed’ by Spurs

CaughtOffside claim that Tottenham could face plenty of competition for Galatasaray attacker Baris Alper Yilmaz, with Nottingham Forest becoming the latest club to enter the race.

Baris Alper Yilmaz is shining at Galatasaray

Yilmaz has been making waves in Turkish football over the last couple of years and he has had an excellent start to the new season, having scored four goals and provided an assist in six Super Lig games so far (Transfermarkt).

The skilful wide-man is being backed to make a move to the Premier League, with CaughtOffside naming Tottenham as one of the clubs keen on the player.

It is revealed that the North London club have closely followed the 24-year-old for a while but have not made a formal approach for him.

Nottingham Forest and Brighton also like Yilmaz

Meanwhile, Brighton are also thought to be fans of Yilmaz, with the Seagulls alleged to have failed with a €20m offer for the attacker in the summer.

The outlet claims that the Sout Coast club could up their offer to €25m in January but they also have competition to contend with from Forest, who are the newest club to enter the race.

The Midlands side allegedly scouted Yilmaz in Galatasaray’s recent derby against Fenerbahce and they are expected to keep close tabs on the Turkey international over the coming months.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is too early to be discussing potential January additions but at this point in time, it does appear as if Tottenham lack forward players who can cause chaos on the ball and take on their man consistently.

Whether Spurs address that situation in January could depend on how Odobert does and whether Johnson improves.
