Preview: Queen's Park (A)

Hibs Women are back in cup action this upcoming Sunday as we travel to face Queen's Park in the Sky Sports Cup second round. Full details below!

THE LOWDOWN

Kick-off for our first cup outing of the campaign is at 3pm on Sunday 29 September at Ochilview Park, Stenhousemuir.

Grant Scott's side are seeking a return to winning ways after a 3-0 defeat to Glasgow City at Petershill Park last time out. 

Hibs are the most successful club in SWPL Cup history - lifting the trophy seven times - and have the chance to edge closer to eight titles with a second round victory this weekend.

In last year's competition, the team reached the semi-final after defeating Aberdeen and Dundee United, before coming unstuck against Partick Thistle in a wet and windy bout.

THE HOSTS

The Hibees take on Queen's Park for the second time in a fortnight on Sunday afternoon.

Only recently, on Sunday 15 September, Hibs welcomed the Spiders to Meadowbank for a first SWPL meeting between the two clubs.

The girls ran out 6-1 winners on the day, with Eilidh Adams netting a hat-trick to reach 50 Hibernian goals while Abbie Ferguson, Kathleen McGovern and Poppy Lawson also found the net.

Last time out, Craig Joyce and Iain Ferrie's side shipped six last weekend to Motherwell - with 'Well attacker Laura Berry nabbing four goals to herself at Ochilview.

Our opponents were knocked out of the Sky Sports Cup at the second round stage last season, losing 4-3 to Boroughmuir Thistle at Meggetland.

MATCH TICKETS

Our Sky Sports Cup second round tie versus Queen's Park will be held at Ochilview Park on Sunday 29 September. Kick-off is at 3pm.

This match will be a pay at the gate event, with cash and card accepted. Tickets are priced at:

Adults – £8

Concessions –  £2

Children – £2

Family of four (2 adults & 2 children) – £16
